AAC Services at Minor Achievements

When a person needs to find ways to communicate other than verbally, there are many types of AAC that they can use. An SLP (Speech and Language Pathologist) can help individuals and families develop strategies and find tools to support AAC. At Minor Achievements, Lori Goehrig, SLP, provides AAC support services for the family.

Lori Goehrig, MS, CCC-SLP

Assistive Technology Professional and Speech-Language Pathologist

Lori Goehrig, MS, CCC-SLP received her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Sensory Disorders at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at West Virginia University in 1987. Lori is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Florida and earned her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 1989.

Lori has worked in the public school setting for over 30 years, providing services to students ages 3 to 22. Her interest and passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) began in Maryland when working with middle school students within a specialized classroom. She gained additional expertise in Florida working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Lori joined Broward County Public School’s Assistive Technology Team in 2011 and developed and implemented training for school staff on Core Vocabulary and students with limited verbal language skills.

After moving to New Port Richey, Florida, in 2017, Lori joined the Pinellas County School’s Assistive Technology Team where she continues to focus on integration of AAC and core vocabulary within the classroom setting.
